5 Common Mistakes when hiring a Wedding Photographer
I want you to have the best experience during your wedding planning and avoiding these mistakes will do just that! As a wedding photographer in Frederick, Maryland for almost a decade. I have seen these mistakes come up and I know they are avoidable so let's get started!
Waiting too long to book your photographer - As soon as your wedding date and venue are set, you can start shopping for photographers. Photographers are usually the first vendors couples book after securing their venue, so you do not want to delay getting started. Typically, photographers book wedding dates 12-18 months in advance, and sometimes up to two years in advance.
Not seeing full wedding galleries before booking- Reviewing a few galleries will help you learn if you like their style throughout the wedding day. How they capture a couple's love story and their guests. The variety in bride and groom portraits, and how they pose and capture the venue.
Not considering the importance of a personal connection- This is so important! Photographers spend more time with the bride and groom on their wedding day than anyone else. I always offer a consultation to all my future brides because it's important for us to click- I want you to have the best wedding day experience and this part is important! Also, make sure you schedule your engagement session to get to know each other better before the big day.
Not knowing what's included in the package-Assuming something is included in a photographer's wedding package can affect the wedding experience. Here is a list of must-ask questions. Are the photos watermarked? Is there an Engagement Session included? How long does it take to receive the full gallery? Will you have a print release? How will you receive your images? Are there any printed items included?
Not searching for reviews-Reviews are a great way to know if previous couples had a good experience with the photographer. You can find reviews on Wedding Wire, Google, and Facebook. etc.
Congratulations on your big day! Make sure you set up a consultations with your favorite wedding photographer.
Happy Wedding Planning! <3
